If you’re looking for something really different as a gift or even for yourself, you might want to consider investing in a ring bottle opener.  Even more handy than a bottle opener keychain, the ring bottle opener is always with you as it sits on your finger just like a piece of jewelry.  You can perform some great bar and party tricks when you have one of these on!

If you’re buying it as a gift for someone, make sure it’s something that they’re likely to wear.  Many people will only wear certain styles or types of rings, so make sure you do your homework and check that your recipient will be interested in wearing a bottle opener ring – if not, your gift will be somewhat wasted.  If you think it is something they’d wear, make sure you find one in a style and color that suits what they normally wear, as many people won’t wear anything on their fingers that will clash with their existing jewelry.

Probably the most famous ring bottle opener brand is called Ring Thing. You can buy them almost anywhere online, including most major retailers, and they are simple stainless steel designs which come with a choice of pictures and colors.  There are also several other brands who produce very similar items and you can get them in steel and gold colors, and often with images such as skulls and shamrocks on the side.

Prices for ring bottle openers vary between brands and sites, and it depends on whether you want one with images or not.  You can probably find cheap versions for around $5, although you need to check that the quality is okay before buying as ring bottle openers are put under quite a bit of stress when used and can break easily if they’re not well made.  Ring Thing brand openers sell for between $8 to $20 depending on the style and look of the ring, and other brands are also available for similar prices.
